Child Safe Policy

Every child deserves to feel safe and free to enjoy music

Child safety shapes everything at iROCK; how we hire, how we teach, and how we run every program. This policy aligns with the Victorian Government’s Child Safe Standards and the Child Safe Standards Regulations 2017.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

iROCK Music School is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing space where children can explore music without fear of harm, abuse, or neglect. Every staff member, volunteer, and contractor who works with us is expected to uphold this commitment, without exception.

We take child safety seriously because the families who trust us with their children deserve nothing less.

What THIS POLICY COVERS

This policy applies to everything that happens under the iROCK name, including:

How We Keep Your Kids Safe

All staff, volunteers, and contractors undergo thorough background checks and screening before working with students. This is a non-negotiable part of joining the iROCK team.
Our venue is designed with student safety in mind. We monitor and maintain the space so risks to children are minimised at all times.
Every child who comes to iROCK, regardless of their background, identity, or ability, is treated with dignity. We actively encourage students to express themselves, ask questions, and speak up.

Our staff receive ongoing training in child safety awareness and appropriate conduct. Knowing how to recognise, respond to, and report concerns is part of working at iROCK.

We help children understand their rights and how to seek help if they ever feel uncomfortable. An informed child is a safer child.
Any concern or suspicion of child abuse or neglect is reported promptly to our designated Child Safety Officer. The wellbeing of the child is always the first priority in how we respond.
All information related to child safety matters is handled with strict confidentiality, in line with Australian privacy laws and regulations.
Child safety is a shared responsibility. We collaborate with parents and guardians and welcome open communication about any concerns, big or small.

CHILD SAFETY
Code of Conduct

All iROCK staff, volunteers, and contractors are required to read, acknowledge, and abide by our Child Safety Code of Conduct. This document outlines the expected behaviours and standards for every person who interacts with students in our programs.

It is distributed to all relevant parties and reviewed regularly to ensure
it remains current and effective.
